Time is Your Most Ruthless Partner

Time is Your Most Ruthless Partner

Tomorrow I don’t wake up 27. Tomorrow I wake up 55—and I may need a fire extinguisher for all those candles.

It’s wild to even type that number, because part of me still feels like I’m 18, hustling, chasing every idea I could get my hands on. The truth? Time doesn’t slow down for anyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re ready, if you’ve got unfinished business, or if you’re still figuring out who the hell you are. The clock keeps moving.

I blinked, and high school was gone. I blinked again, and I was knee-deep in work, family, deals, and dreams. Another blink—and somehow I’m looking at 55.

Time is the most ruthless partner you’ll ever have. It doesn’t negotiate. It doesn’t make side deals. It doesn’t care if you’re tired, broke, or heartbroken. It keeps pushing, and you either push with it or you get buried in the dust.

I joke about being 27 tomorrow, but the truth is, I wouldn’t go back. I’ve earned these years, these scars, and these lessons. The question is—what do I do with the time I’ve got left? Because the one guarantee is, I’ve got less of it than I did yesterday.

And here’s the thing—time doesn’t just measure your life, it tests it. It strips away the excuses, it shines a spotlight on the choices you’ve made, and it asks you one brutal question: What did you do with me? That’s what Truth in the Trenches™ is about—standing face to face with that question and refusing to flinch.

At 55, I know the scoreboard isn’t about how many years I’ve lived—it’s about what I’ve done with them. Did I build? Did I fight? Did I learn? Did I leave something worth remembering? Because the clock doesn’t stop, and the trenches don’t forgive. But if you’re willing to take the hits, if you’re willing to bleed a little, you just might come out with something nobody can take away—your truth, your story, your legacy.

One day, my clock will hit zero. That’s the endgame for all of us. What matters is what we build before that moment comes. That’s why I write, why I fight, why I tell it raw and unpolished. Because the people who come after me deserve more than a polished highlight reel—they deserve the unfiltered truth of what it really takes to survive the trenches.

So if you’re reading this, don’t wait. Don’t kid yourself that time is patient—it isn’t. Take the risk. Say the words. Launch the thing. Time is already moving, and it doesn’t stop for anyone. The only choice you have is whether you waste it or weaponize it.

That’s Truth in the Trenches™. And at 55, I’m still in the fight.

So here’s to 55. No illusions, no filters, no regrets. Just me, still grinding, still learning, and still chasing what matters—because time waits for no one.

Till next time

Love and peace
