Yesterday was one of those quiet Sundays where the world finally stops yelling. No noise. No pressure. Just the house settling in as the holidays start creeping around the corner.

I told my wife we should put up the Christmas tree. I’d already dragged it down from the attic — that big red bag sitting there like it had been waiting its turn. When I asked her what she was thinking for the theme this year, she looked at me and said, “Whatever you want.”

And she means it — because she’s far from selfish.
She sees this as a family endeavor, something we build together. But this time, I passed the wand right back to her.

Today she’s heading to Hobby Lobby, hunting for more décor — her colors, her textures, her vision. And that’s exactly what I want to see come alive.

Because this isn’t about the tree.
It’s not about ornaments, lights, or holiday routines.

This is about a man understanding his role — not controlling, not passive, but tuned in. Knowing when to lead, and knowing when to step back and let his woman’s energy rise, because that energy is what makes a house feel alive.

And don’t get it twisted — I still pitch in.
I hang an ornament or two… or three… the ones way up at the top that only I can reach.
But the soul of that tree?
That’s her touch.

It’s about honoring the life she breathes into our world — the same energy men live on, even if most never admit it. Without that feminine spark — that fire, that intuition, that quiet creative power — men wouldn’t stand as tall as they do. They’d just move through life empty.

Yesterday, I watched her light up.
Today, she’s gathering the other pieces of her vision.
And me? I’m grateful to stand beside her, to support her, to witness the magic she brings into our home.

Another day in the trenches — where the smallest moments teach the biggest truths.

How does this resonate for you — men? Women?

Till next time…
