FIELD NOTES: When Men Stop Holding the Line

FIELD NOTES: When Men Stop Holding the Line

Today’s Observation -April 21, 2026

Not every conversation here is about real estate, investing, or finance.

We go there often—because structure, capital, and execution matter.

But sometimes we go deeper.

Because everything we build… every deal we structure… every move we make…

Sits on top of who we are as men.

And if that foundation is off, none of the rest holds.

Yesterday something came across my radar that stopped me.

Actually—correction.

My wife brought it to me.

She dropped me this post on Instagram … and it stopped me.

Before I get into that, understand this—

Having a woman by your side who supports you, fires you up, and multiplies your life…

That’s one of the greatest gifts a man can receive.

Not because she carries you.
But because she aligns with you.

In business, in life—you need that.

Someone who sees you.
Someone who shares the vision.
Someone who helps carry weight when it matters.

Otherwise, you’re coasting.

And coasting is where things start to fizzle.

My wife sees me.

She gives me the kind of support—the kind of respect—that men need.

And yes… we do need it.

Of course this goes both ways. Let’s not forget that.

Now here’s what stopped me.

CNN reported on this and did an investigation.

Go look it up if you don’t believe me.

There’s an online “academy”—that’s what they call it—teaching men how to drug and rape their wives, girlfriends, the women closest to them.

What the fuck! What?

In one month… it had 62 million visitors.

Let that sink in.

This isn’t just disturbing.

This is exposure.

Because this didn’t start with the internet.

The internet just scaled it.

What used to stay hidden now has reach, structure, and an audience.

And that should raise a much bigger question—

Have that many men truly forgotten who they’re supposed to be?

Have we really lost that level of respect for the women in our lives—wives, mothers, sisters?

Or has something deeper broken?

Here’s the truth.

A man without discipline…
A man without standards…
A man without respect…

Isn’t just weak.

He’s dangerous.

And here’s the part most people won’t admit—

A strong relationship doesn’t fix a man.

It reveals him.

If a man lacks discipline, he brings chaos into everything—his business, his decisions, and his relationships.

And when you remove standards from men, what fills the gap isn’t neutrality.

It’s degradation.

So this isn’t about some website.

This is about something bigger.

This is about men no longer holding the line.

Because culture doesn’t correct itself.

And weak men don’t correct themselves either.

Men need other men.

Not for ego.
Not for status.
For accountability.

For standards.

For correction when they step out of line.

I’ve been in rooms where men actually show up for each other.

Where excuses get stripped.
Where truth gets said—whether it’s comfortable or not.
Where standards are not suggested… they’re enforced.

That kind of brotherhood is rare.

But it’s necessary.

Because if men don’t check other men…

Then who does?

Let me be clear.

There is no justification.
No gray area.
No excuse.

If a man finds any reason—any reason—to degrade, violate, or harm a woman…

He’s not lost.

He’s chosen.

And that choice deserves to be met with absolute resistance.

We don’t tolerate it.
We don’t ignore it.
We don’t stay silent.

We shut it down.

This isn’t about being perfect.

It’s about having a line… and refusing to let it move.

Because when men stop holding the line…

Everything else starts to fall with it.
