⚠️ Important Daily Journal Post – Frustration & Focus ⚠️

Today’s Daily Journal post already went out, and I hope you had a chance to read it or will at some point today. But it was necessary to write this other post and get it out right now because it was important enough for me to do so. It was not something that could wait till tomorrow or a week from now.

So listen up…. this one is for everyone!

Today my wife caught me slipping. We were out on our normal morning walk with the three dogs—always a handful, but pretty good for the most part, especially considering they walk off-leash. Each has their own personality, and with one being just a 6-month-old puppy, every moment outside is a training moment. We try to take advantage of that about 99% of the time.

But my mind wasn’t there. People calling, my phone blowing up, clients in need—one thing after another. Instead of being present with her and the dogs, I let distraction take over. She was upset, and rightfully so. This is her moment—her 1-mile jog, music cranked up, fully in the zone. And I spoiled it. Shame on me.

Now don’t get me wrong—I’m fine with texts, emails, even phone calls. When a client has an urgent matter, I don’t expect them to wonder if 7:30 a.m. is too early to disturb me. That’s not their problem. The issue is me. I don’t need to be available every second of the day or jump when Simon says. I’ve been in business long enough to know better. I just need to STOP, DECIDE, and stick to it.

Awareness is everything. And that’s what I lacked. Habits form, stress piles up, and before you know it, you’re reacting instead of living. I’m writing this because it’s been bothering me, creeping around in the back of my mind. Straighten out, Michael! Gravity is fierce, and if you’re not aware, it’ll suck you right back in.

The truth is, it’s not the dogs, the clients, or the phone. It’s me. Presence is a choice. Real focus is discipline. Real love is presence. Both are habits, not accidents.

This was OUR MOMENT and I put other things priority to that.

Thank you babe for making me aware that I was not being aware.

Love you!

Tomorrow I’ll do better.

Till tomorrow

-Michael
